For years the world population has rested safe knowing that people were there that could protect them from any threat, and more importantly would. The Avengers, Force Works, X-Men, SHIELD, or even those lone figures like the Inhumans that move from place to place quietly. For the last five years they have been gone from the face of the world. An intergalatic war threatening to devour the Earth in it's wake forced the world's heros to unite, and travel a great distance to save the Earth from death.

The Skrull Empire had decided that now was the time to invade the weak planet, and instead of just sending small forces as they have done before sent their full Armada after the little blue marble. Ensured of victory due to over powering numbers they were stunned when Earth's Hero's met them in space. What's worse they pushed the empire back step by step, parsec by parsec. Until finally Earth's Mightiest forced the Armada all the way back to Skrullos, the Skrull Home world. Still, the fight was taken farther, to slow the Skrulls down the ground war started and army of hero's destroyed many of the key facilities that was used for space invasions. Including multiple ship building facilities.

Now five years later the hero's start to return only to find their beloved world overrun by the villians that they left behind. While the cats were away the Mice did play. Now the population doesn't trust a single person with powers that make them different than normal folks. Some of these hero's see this as old hat, like the X-Men, but others like the Avengers and the Fantastic Four don't know how to handle things anymore. After a five year war, now the real fight begins, and it is not the fight to save the Earth from the men they left behind, but to earn the trust back from the people who feel they were abandoned in their greatest need.
